What is an EEG scan?

EEG is a safe, non-invasive way of recording electrical activity from the surface of your head. Small sensors detect your brain’s natural signals while you´re sitting quietly or working. The equipment only records; it does not stimulate or change your brain. We also cannot read your thoughts.

Is MindMirror scientifically validated?

Not in the sense of an independent study proving our metrics predict leadership outcomes, and we don't claim that. EEG itself is a well-established research method. We use its patterns as prompts for a coached conversation, not as measurements of who you are.

How is this different from a personality test or a 360?

Other tests rely on what you or others report. This adds a different kind of information which you can´t infuence. It doesn't replace them. Used together, they give you more angles on the same question.

Does it hurt? Is it safe?

It doesn't hurt. The headset only records the brain's natural electrical activity. Nothing is sent into your brain. We can´t read your thoughts.

Can MindMirror tell me whether I'm a good leader?

No. No brain recording can do that for an individual, whatever anyone tells you. It can show patterns worth talking about.

Will my employer see my results?

No. Only you and your coach see them, even if your employer paid for your scan or congress ticket. If you want to share your results, that's your choice.

How much time does a scan take?

Allow for 30 minutes in total. The actual scan only takes 5 minutes, but we need to prepare you and get the head band fitted. After the scan, we remove the gear.

What do I need to preprare?

Nothing, really. Just relax. It´s best to avoid alcohol and drugs in the 12 hours leading up to the brainscan. Do let us know if you have used anything that may influence the results. We do not judge.

Is this a medical diagnosis?

No. MindMirror is a self-awareness and development tool. It is not a medical diagnosis and does not replace neurological, psychological or psychiatric assessment or treatment.

Is this neurofeedback or brain training?

No. We record and reflect. We don't claim to train or change your brain. Of coure, raising your awareness can influence future outcomes.

Does it make sense to take a second scan after several weeks or months?

It very much does. That way, we can track your progress for you from one scan to the next.

Can I delete my data afterwards?

Yes, at any time. Requests will be handled within 2 working days. Brain recordings are personal data, so we treat them as sensitive data. That means we need your explicit consent, and you can change your mind at any time.

Do I need to do the scan to attend the workshop?

No. The workshop is open to all Congress participants.

How safe is my brain data with you?

Your scan is processed on a private, secured server, located in the Netherlands (Europe). Only you get access to your reports. We do not share them with anyone. We do not train AI models on individual brain data. If a project requests us to provide aggregated reports, we make sure that all data shared can not be tracked back to individual reports or persons. You can also opt-out of your data being used for those kind of analytics.
